German to English Certified Translation

As a Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (MCIL) I offer certified translations from German into English.

What is a certified translation?

A certified translation is an official translation of a document provided by a professional, qualified and officially recognised translator. It will be accompanied by a certified statement as per UK government guidelines with at least the following information:

  • The translation is ‘a true and accurate translation of the original document’

  • The date of the translation

  • My name and contact details, including my membership details with the Chartered Institute of Linguists (for added credibility!).

Do you need a certified translation?

A certified translation may be requested by public bodies, authorities and institutions. For example, you may require a certified translation for a residence permit, university application, loan application or for a medical professional.

How much does it cost to get a certified translation?

Certified translations are charged on a rate per word basis plus a certification fee (dependent on your exact requirements). Certified translations will also include the cost of printing, postage and administration costs. Hard copies of the translation will be posted in a hard-backed cardboard document envelope with tracked delivery. I will be transparent with you from the get-go to ensure no nasty little surprises crop up!
